Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical claims for accuracy before submission to insurance carriers.
- Process claims electronically and manually using industry-standard billing software.
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims and appeal them as necessary.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and billing documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
- Proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) and billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth).
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a part-time capacity.
