Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly and check them in efficiently upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Communication: Answer incoming phone calls with a professional, courteous tone and redirect inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Scheduling: Manage the daily appointment calendar, schedule new patient visits, and confirm upcoming appointments via phone or email.
- Administrative Support: Verify patient insurance information, process co-pays, and assist with medical billing inquiries.
- Record Keeping: Update and maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and patient files in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock front desk supplies, forms, and waiting area materials.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic scheduling systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Compliance: Strong understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
