Responsibilities
- Perform accurate blood draws and specimen collection following established protocols
- Verify patient identity and maintain proper labeling procedures
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory efficiently
- Ensure equipment calibration and inventory management
- Provide exceptional patient care with emphasis on comfort and safety
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with EMR systems
- Valid CPR certification
- North Carolina state phlebotomy license
