Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws following established safety protocols
- Process and label specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for transport
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Document all procedures using our electronic health record system
- Collaborate with nursing staff to ensure seamless patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical phlebotomy experience
- Georgia phlebotomy license in good standing
- Excellent venipuncture skills for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling accuracy
- BLS certification required
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
