Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws accurately and efficiently
- Process and label specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile techniques and infection control standards
- Verify patient identification and prepare specimens for testing
- Document all procedures using electronic health records systems
- Assist with patient education regarding blood collection procedures
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months clinical experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
