Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures by preparing and passing instruments and supplies.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent surgical site infections.
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment before and after procedures.
- Monitor and record patient vital signs and maintain accurate medical records.
- Assist in patient positioning, draping, and skin preparation.
- Perform room turnover and cleaning to ensure infection control protocols are met.
- Collaborate effectively with the surgical team and nursing staff.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) credential required.
- Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- 1-3 years of clinical experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
- CPR/BLS certification must be current.
