Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment according to surgical protocols
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment with precision
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques and sterile environments to prevent surgical site infections
- Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments before, during, and after surgeries
- Prepare and transport patients to/from operating rooms while ensuring comfort and safety
- Manage sterile processing and inventory of surgical supplies and equipment
- Document procedural activities and equipment usage in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent military training
- Certification as Surgical Technologist (CST) required or obtainable within 6 months
- Minimum 1 year experience in hospital surgical services preferred
- Expertise in sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
