Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and in-person patient assessments using evidence-based protocols
- Prioritize cases using clinical judgment and established triage algorithms
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to coordinate patient care pathways
- Document assessments accurately in EMR systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Provide clear patient education on home care instructions and when to seek emergency care
- Monitor patient outcomes and escalate critical cases to appropriate providers
Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina with 2+ years clinical experience
- BLS certification; ACLS preferred
- Proven experience in triage, ER, or urgent care settings
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EPIC experience a plus)
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
