Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough telephone and in-person patient assessments to determine urgency and prioritize care
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams for seamless care transitions
- Document patient encounters accurately in EMR systems following HIPAA protocols
- Provide clear, compassionate patient education on home care and next steps
- Manage patient flow and coordinate with emergency departments as needed
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and triage protocol updates
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Maryland (compact license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years emergency or urgent care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Proficient in Epic or comparable EMR systems
- Strong communication abilities with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
