Responsibilities
- Process prescriptions accurately and efficiently, ensuring all dosage and patient information is correct.
- Perform inventory management, including stocking, ordering, and maintaining proper storage conditions for medications.
- Assist the Pharmacist with preparation and packaging of medications, including sterile compounding where applicable.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process payments accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding medications and store policies.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA privacy laws.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the pharmacy department.
Qualifications
- Current Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred but not mandatory for exceptional candidates.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent communication skills with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with pharmacy management software.
