Responsibilities
- Verify prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and appropriateness.
- Prepare and package medications according to established protocols and patient safety standards.
- Assist pharmacists in the compounding of sterile products and non-sterile preparations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications and insurance coverage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper storage of controlled substances and hazardous materials.
- Monitor and manage the pharmacy's point-of-sale system and reimbursement processing.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy board laws to ensure patient privacy and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PCTC) required.
- Current state license or registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Massachusetts.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with pharmacy software systems (e.g., Cerner, RxHub) is a plus.
