In this role, you will work closely with pharmacists to ensure the safe and effective dispensing of medications. You will play a crucial role in our daily operations, from verifying prescriptions to managing inventory and providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, verify, and prepare prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and maintain accurate inventory records to ensure timely product availability.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and healthcare professionals to answer inquiries, provide medication information, and resolve issues professionally.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and pharmacy safety protocols.
- Record Keeping: Maintain patient records, prescription logs, and controlled substance documentation with strict confidentiality.
- Compounding & Packaging: Assist in the compounding of medications and proper packaging and labeling of prescriptions.
Qualifications
- Certification: PTCB or ExCPT certification required or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in pharmacy technology is a plus.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in data entry and prescription verification.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Valid License: Current AZ Pharmacy Technician license.
