Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense prescription medications with a focus on accuracy and safety.
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy before dispensing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medication profiles and records.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and reporting shortages.
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation of sterile compounds and IVs as required.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, processing payments, and handling insurance verifications.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA standards.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent state licensure.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, dosage forms, and drug interactions.
- Proficient in using pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Pioneer, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
