Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies according to the surgical schedule.
- Ensure sterility of instruments and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors.
- Monitor patient vitals and report any significant changes to the charge nurse or surgeon.
- Properly label and organize specimens for laboratory analysis and transport.
- Maintain accurate records of surgical procedures and inventory levels.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and hospital policies at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or similar certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical protocols.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
