Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision while adhering to all state and federal regulations
- Manage inventory control systems, including ordering, receiving, and tracking controlled substances
- Provide exceptional patient counseling on medication usage, potential side effects, and adherence protocols
- Operate automated dispensing systems and maintain electronic health records (EHR) with precision
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve prescription inquiries and optimize therapeutic outcomes
- Ensure HIPAA compliance while handling sensitive patient information and billing processes
- Maintain sterile compounding environments for specialty medications and IV preparations
Qualifications
- Current Oregon Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certification required)
- Minimum 2 years experience in retail or hospital pharmacy settings
- Proficiency in pharmacy management software (e.g., QS/1, Omnicell, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of sterile compounding USP 797 guidelines
- Exceptional attention to detail with proven medication error prevention track record
- CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and occasional holidays
