Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, process, and dispense prescription medications to patients according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify patient information and prescription details to ensure safety and compliance.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly counts.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications, insurance, and pharmacy policies.
- Collaborate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Current, active certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations quickly and accurately.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
- Previous experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., Cerner, McKesson) is preferred.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
