Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescription medications under the direct supervision of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders to ensure compliance with state and federal laws.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and processing reorders to prevent stockouts.
- Assist patients with medication questions, refill requests, and provide exceptional customer service at the service window.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pharmacy environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations and prepare compound medications when required.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions accurately.
Qualifications
- Current and active Pharmacy Technician license issued by the State of Alaska.
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in medication dispensing.
- Excellent mathematical and reading comprehension skills.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, Epic).
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
- CPR certification (Basic Life Support) is preferred but not required.
