Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately receive, review, and process prescription orders for patients, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete.
- Medication Preparation: Assist pharmacists in the compounding and dispensing of medications, including counting, pouring, and labeling.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage pharmacy inventory, and assist with reordering pharmaceutical supplies to ensure availability.
- Customer Service: Interact with patients and insurance providers to resolve inquiries, explain medication usage, and provide exceptional service.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws to maintain patient confidentiality and safety.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current and active certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) is required.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to verify data and perform repetitive tasks with high accuracy.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and medical staff.
