Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications according to legal and ethical standards.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription orders for accuracy.
- Assist the Pharmacist in the compounding and packaging of medications.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly audits.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and refills.
- Process returns, exchanges, and special orders efficiently.
- Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and company policies regarding patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Current PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) or ExCPT certification.
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is a plus but not mandatory for the right candidate.
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with pharmacy management software.
