Responsibilities

  • Prescription Processing: Accurately verify and process prescriptions, including refill authorizations and new patient profiles, ensuring all documentation is complete and correct.
  • Medication Preparation: Prepare and package medications according to strict safety protocols, including counting, measuring, and labeling.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, receive and verify incoming pharmaceutical shipments, and organize the pharmacy storage areas efficiently.
  • Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers, answering questions regarding medications and providing exceptional service at the service window.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Current and active certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) or registration as a Pharmacy Technician in Training.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program is preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy and the ability to detect errors in prescriptions and paperwork.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive motions associated with counting and packaging.
