Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately and efficiently according to physician orders.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and prescription validity to ensure compliance.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions regarding medications and processing transactions.
- Assist the Pharmacist in compounding medications and reviewing prescriptions for potential drug interactions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in adherence to HIPAA and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (ExCPT or PTCB) preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in medication handling.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with pharmacy management software (e.g., Cerner, RxVision) is a plus.
