Responsibilities
- Assist Pharmacists: Work directly with licensed pharmacists to dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with state and federal laws.
- Prescription Processing: Receive, verify, and prepare prescriptions for customers, ensuring proper labeling and dosage instructions.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of medications and supplies, place orders, and organize the pharmacy storage area to ensure efficiency.
- Customer Service: Greet patients warmly, answer questions about medications, and process payments at the register.
- Insurance Processing: Assist patients with insurance claim inquiries and handle copay transactions accurately.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of prescription history and inventory logs using pharmacy management software.
- Quality Control: Ensure all medications are stored properly (temperature controlled) and inspect products for expiration dates.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: No prior pharmacy experience is necessary. We are looking for eager learners willing to undergo training.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and excellent mathematical skills for calculating dosages.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliability: Must be punctual, trustworthy, and able to follow safety protocols strictly.
- Computer Literacy: Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software quickly.
