Responsibilities
- Prepare and Package Medications: Accurately fill prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure patient safety.
- Verify Prescriptions: Review all prescriptions for dosage, drug interactions, and allergies before dispensing.
- Customer Service: Greet patients warmly, answer questions regarding medications, and resolve inquiries efficiently.
- Inventory Management: Maintain accurate stock levels of pharmaceutical products and manage supply orders.
- Assist Pharmacists: Perform compounding duties, manage insurance verifications, and maintain pharmacy records.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and state pharmacy laws.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current CPhT (Certified Pharmacy Technician) certification required.
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of pharmacy software and medical terminology.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to multitask and maintain high accuracy under pressure.
