Responsibilities
- Accurately receive, prepare, and dispense prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, including allergies and current medications, to prevent medication errors.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and monitoring expiration dates.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering patient inquiries regarding medication usage and insurance coverage.
- Process insurance claims and handle financial transactions at the register efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant workspace in strict accordance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the compounding of medications and sterile preparations as required.
Qualifications
- Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred (PTCB or ExCPT).
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are recommended.
