Responsibilities
- Process and verify prescriptions accurately, checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Prepare and package medications, including compounding sterile preparations when required.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and place orders for pharmaceutical supplies.
- Interact professionally with patients to answer questions regarding medications and insurance billing.
- Ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols.
- Assist the lead pharmacist with clinical documentation and medication therapy management tasks.
- Manage the returns and expired medication disposal process.
Qualifications
- Current and active PTCB or ExCPT certification required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician preferred but not required for high-potential candidates.
- Strong mathematical skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency with standard pharmacy computer software (e.g., Rx30, McKesson).
