Responsibilities
- Prescription Processing: Accurately verify and prepare prescriptions for dispensing in strict accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, order pharmaceutical supplies, and manage the pharmacy inventory system efficiently to prevent shortages.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with patients and healthcare providers to answer questions regarding medications and provide excellent service.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and state pharmacy board regulations to ensure patient privacy and safety at all times.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks on medication accuracy and packaging quality to ensure the highest standards of care.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current PTCB or ExCPT certification and active state licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in Hawaii.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting preferred.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of discretion and accuracy.
