Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications accurately according to doctor's orders and state regulations.
- Verify insurance coverage and process claims efficiently using state-of-the-art pharmacy software.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving deliveries, stocking shelves, and performing monthly cycle counts.
- Assist pharmacists with compounding medications and handling special orders.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries and resolving patient medication questions.
- Ensure the pharmacy environment remains clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or registered with the Board of Pharmacy in California.
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in pharmacy technology preferred.
- Strong knowledge of pharmacy terminology, drug interactions, and dosage calculations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation (optional for in-store role but helpful).
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new pharmacy software quickly.
