Responsibilities
- Receive, process, and dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with all state and federal laws.
- Verify patient information, prescription details, and insurance coverage to ensure proper billing and patient safety.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving shipments, stocking shelves, and performing monthly inventory counts.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering questions regarding medications and pharmacy operations.
- Assist the licensed pharmacist in the preparation of sterile compounding and other specialized pharmaceutical services.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or equivalent state licensure is required.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional mathematical skills for accurate dosage calculations.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., McKesson, Cerner, or similar).
