Responsibilities
- Dispensing Excellence: Accurately prepare and package prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, ensuring all labeling and packaging guidelines are met.
- Customer Service: Assist patients with medication inquiries, insurance verifications, and payment processing in a friendly and professional manner.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, manage incoming shipments, and ensure the pharmacy maintains an organized and efficient inventory system.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA regulations, and company policies regarding medication handling and record-keeping.
- Quality Assurance: Perform routine checks to ensure medication integrity and assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary pharmacy environment.
- Collaboration: Communicate effectively with pharmacists and other healthcare staff to resolve any discrepancies or patient issues promptly.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current, unencumbered certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, Cerner, or similar).
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift boxes weighing up to 25 lbs as needed.
