Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescription medications for patients, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling.
- Verify prescription orders for completeness and accuracy, checking for drug interactions and allergies.
- Assist the Pharmacist in compounding medications and managing inventory levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries, processing insurance claims, and resolving customer concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Update patient records and ensure all documentation is current and HIPAA compliant.
Qualifications
- Certificate or Associate degree in Pharmacy Technology (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Current certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) eligible.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software (e.g., Rx30, McKesson) is a plus.
