Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and package prescription medications according to state and federal regulations.
- Verify prescriptions for dosage, accuracy, and appropriateness before dispensing.
- Manage inventory levels, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Assist the Pharmacist in compounding and preparing intravenous (IV) medications.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering phone inquiries and resolving medication-related questions.
- Maintain accurate patient records and medication profiles in the pharmacy management system.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and pharmacy safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) or eligible to sit for the PTCB or ExCPT exam.
- High School Diploma or GED required; post-secondary education in Pharmacy Technology is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service oriented attitude.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn pharmacy software systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
