Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and fill prescriptions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Verify patient information, insurance details, and allergies to ensure medication safety.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including receiving, stocking, and ordering pharmaceutical supplies.
- Communicate clearly with patients regarding prescription instructions, drug interactions, and insurance coverage.
- Assist in the preparation of sterile intravenous (IV) admixtures when certified.
- Maintain strict compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA.
- Process payments and handle cash transactions efficiently.
Qualifications
- Current PTCB or ExCPT certification (or eligibility to obtain certification).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and computer systems.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
