Responsibilities
- Prepare and package prescribed medications for dispensing while adhering to all safety protocols and state regulations.
- Verify patient information and prescription details to ensure accuracy and prevent medication errors.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and manage stock levels to ensure medications are always available.
- Assist customers with over-the-counter medication recommendations and health-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with pharmacists to review prescriptions and resolve any discrepancies or questions.
- Process insurance claims and handle copay collections efficiently.
- Keep the pharmacy area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (PTCB or ExCPT) required; CA State License preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety and accuracy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic computer proficiency and experience with pharmacy management software.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (optional, depending on delivery duties).
