Responsibilities
- Accurately dispense prescription medications and verify dosages per physician orders
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, and rotation of pharmaceuticals
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with medication counseling
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidential patient records
- Collaborate with pharmacists on compounding and sterile preparations
- Utilize pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Omnicell) for efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license (PTCB or ExCPT certified)
- Minimum 1 year retail or hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer proficiency with pharmacy management systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
