Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting in a dignified and respectful manner.
  • Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications at scheduled times and report any changes in health or medication side effects to the supervising nurse.
  • Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage in conversation, hobbies, and recreational activities to enhance the client's quality of life.
  • Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious, client-appropriate meals according to dietary restrictions.
  • Household Assistance: Light housekeeping duties such as laundry, changing linens, and tidying the living space to ensure a safe environment.
  • Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, social outings, and grocery shopping as needed.
  • Monitoring: Observe client behavior, mood, and physical condition, and document daily activities and any concerns in the care log.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional caregiving experience is preferred.
  • Licensure: Current state certification as a CNA or Home Health Aide is highly desirable.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to lift, transfer, and assist patients up to 50 lbs; good physical stamina and mobility.
