Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Ensure all blood specimens are labeled correctly, processed, and transported to the laboratory efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining procedures to patients and answering questions.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory of supplies and ensure the cleanliness of the phlebotomy area.
- Document patient information accurately into electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent state licensure required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient comfort.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs when necessary.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Proficient in using computer systems and laboratory equipment.
