Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label and process specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized work area to ensure infection control standards are met.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding during procedures.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and report shortages promptly.
Qualifications
- Current, active Phlebotomy Certification (CPT, Phlebotomy Tech, etc.) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy and experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is a plus.
