Key Responsibilities:
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Prepare, label, and process blood specimens according to strict laboratory protocols.
- Greet patients warmly, verify identities, and explain procedures to ensure a comfortable experience.
- Maintain and sterilize all phlebotomy equipment and work areas.
- Accurately enter patient data and specimen information into the laboratory information system (LIS).
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely and accurate test results.
Qualifications:
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association) mandatory.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
