Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws using aseptic technique.
- Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of all specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols to ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist with patient preparation and explain procedures clearly to reduce anxiety.
- Manage and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies in excellent working condition.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow strict medical guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
