Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on diverse patient populations
- Process and transport specimens to laboratory with strict adherence to protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation
- Ensure proper equipment calibration and sterile technique
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize patient flow
- Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proven ability to handle difficult venipunctures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in LIS systems (Epic preferred)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Negative TB test and health clearance required
