Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary puncture, and specialized blood collection procedures
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis with strict adherence to protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and transportation to maintain integrity
- Provide patient education on pre-test procedures and address concerns
- Maintain sterile work environment and infection control standards
- Collaborate with healthcare team to optimize patient flow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced setting
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Exceptional venipuncture skills with proven low-miss rate
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills for patient interaction
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
