Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA guidelines
- Maintain accurate patient records and sample tracking systems
- Verify patient identity and test requisitions before collection
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (centrifuges, analyzers)
- Implement infection control protocols and safety procedures
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and aftercare
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling and processing protocols
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
