Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.
- Label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required by the state of California.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and venipuncture techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to de-escalate patient anxiety.
- Valid California Driver's License (for facility transport if required).
- Ability to pass a background check and a pre-employment drug screening.
