Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens to the laboratory following HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and inventory of phlebotomy supplies
- Verify patient identity and document procedures accurately in EMR systems
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation and aftercare
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- CPR certification (BLS for Healthcare Providers)
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling protocols
- Excellent communication skills for patient interactions
