Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens with precision to ensure lab integrity
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy and professionalism
- Utilize LIS systems for efficient specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient workflow
- Adhere to OSHA, HIPAA, and CLIA compliance requirements
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a fast-paced setting
- Valid Louisiana Phlebotomy license
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining accuracy
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and laboratory procedures
