Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws using provided equipment
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA protocols
- Maintain sterile workstations and calibrated instruments
- Provide patient education during blood collection procedures
- Document electronic health records with precision
- Collaborate with lab staff for efficient specimen handling
- Adhere to OSHA safety standards for biohazard materials
Qualifications
- New York State Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- 1+ years clinical experience with venipuncture skills
- Proficiency in blood culture and pediatric draws
- OSHA and HIPAA compliance knowledge
- Ability to work efficiently with provided equipment
- Excellent patient communication and comfort skills
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends
- Current BLS/CPR certification
