Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood specimens
- Process and prepare samples for laboratory testing with precision
- Maintain sterile environments and adhere to HIPAA compliance standards
- Provide exceptional patient care during specimen collection procedures
- Utilize LIS systems for accurate specimen labeling and documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely test processing
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and process improvements
Qualifications
- Current Colorado Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT) required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Strong understanding of venipuncture techniques and safety protocols
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to comfort anxious patients
- Basic computer proficiency for laboratory information systems
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
