We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to collect blood samples for testing, transfusions, and research. You will play a critical role in the diagnostic process, ensuring accuracy and patient comfort every step of the way.
Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identities and accurately label, log, and store all specimens.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and laboratory safety protocols.
- Ensure a clean, organized, and sterile work environment at all times.
- Assist patients by answering questions and explaining procedures to reduce anxiety.
- Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to ensure timely specimen delivery.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Proven experience in blood collection techniques and venipuncture.
- Strong dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and fine motor skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume medical setting.
