Responsibilities
- Perform routine blood draws, venipunctures, and micro-collection procedures with precision and patient safety in mind.
- Ensure proper labeling, processing, and storage of all blood specimens to maintain laboratory integrity.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure a comfortable collection experience.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and OSHA safety standards at all times.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to coordinate patient care and specimen logistics.
- Perform basic EKGs or point-of-care testing as required by department protocol.
- Manage inventory of phlebotomy supplies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification (ASCP, NHA, etc.) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-first attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (optional but preferred).
