Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict aseptic protocols
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis with meticulous attention to detail
- Verify patient identification and ensure proper labeling of all samples
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy during blood draw procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records systems
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety standards at all times
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely specimen processing
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Excellent venipuncture skills with proven track record
- Strong knowledge of specimen handling and processing protocols
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems
- Valid CPR certification
